Companies I’ve worked for
Great UX shouldn't get lost in translation
I help you test, localize, and launch across Korea and North America, on real evidence from the users who actually live there.
Decisions need evidence. I gather the user side of it for you, in your market and in the one you're entering.
You don't have to know what kind of study this takes. That's my job.
Bring the decision as it is: a flow that's bleeding users, a redesign that didn't pay off, a feature you're debating.
A professionally trained, bilingual researcher works with you directly.
Native on both sides, Korean and North American. The same person from kickoff to readout, with in-house research at RBC, Skip, and QANDA.
What I do
Research & strategy consulting
Localization, GTM, PMF, growth levers. Complex problems, solved together on the right evidence.
End-to-end user research
Bilingual interviews (English·Korean), recruitment, moderation: all handled. You walk away knowing who your users are and what to fix first.
In-house UXR setup & training
User insights, set up properly: research ops, interview training, DIY AI for UX research. Built with you, runs without me.
Who I work with
Growing B2C companies
Know exactly why users pay, why they quit, and what keeps them.
Global research agencies
Native English moderation with a native North American read. Analysis and reporting in English or Korean, per task, not per project. → task-based services
Design agencies
When the project needs more than usability testing, I fold into your design process. Native Korean-English moderation, analysis and reporting, per task.
Marketing agencies
Your client's target users, on tape, reacting to the product. The evidence that wins the pitch.
How it works
Discovery call (free).
You bring the decision you're facing. We check whether research can actually move it, and whether we're a fit.
Fixed quote.
Scope, timeline, deliverables, one number. No surprise hours.
Research, run natively.
Recruiting, bilingual moderation (Korean ↔ English; other languages through vetted partners), and analysis. A lean study typically runs 6–10 weeks kickoff to readout.
Decide together.
Findings land in a working session with your team, not a PDF that dies in a drive. You leave with the decision made and the next steps owned.
About
I've spent my career translating between two worlds.
Hi, I'm Diana Jisun Lee. Born in Korea, raised in Canada, I've built a research career in the space between them: Korean teams trying to read global users, global companies trying to read Korean ones, and product decisions stuck in the gap.
That gap is where research earns its keep. Dashboards cross borders fine; meaning doesn't. A Korean founder can read a US churn chart, and a Toronto PM can read a Seoul survey, but the why underneath lives in language, context, and habits that don't survive translation. My work is carrying the why across intact, in both directions.
That runs both ways. If you're launching into Korea, it's home ground: I know the market first-hand and moderate in Korean with local users, so your go/no-go rests on evidence, not guesswork. If you're a Korean team going global, I read your North American users the way they read themselves.
One researcher, every decision the evidence touches.
One call to find out if research can move your decision.
